Meet Our Staff
The Wranglers
Will
Will is the grandson of Tag Rittel and is the fifth generation here at the Blacktail Ranch. Will is also one of our wranglers when he isn’t busy tackling other tasks here at the ranch.
Haelee
Hi my name is Haelee and this will be my fifth season as a wrangler here at the Blacktail Ranch. I was raised in Sun River, Montana where I was exposed to horses, rodeo, and ranching at a young age. At the age of 13 I started breaking/training my own horses and still continue to start young horses for the ranch and clients. I’m also the main horseshoer/farrier for the Blacktail horses as well. I have always had a passion for the mountains and horses, the Blacktail Ranch is the perfect place for me to share that passion with everyone that visits!
Shania
Hello, I’m Shania I grew up in Wisconsin on a small farm but moved here for college and decided to stay. I’ve been riding horses almost all my life but have been at the Blacktail for about 6 yrs. I really enjoy all the people you get to meet while at this job, and the variety of horses we have to offer not only for beginner riders but also the more advanced. The horses above are Nipper and Princess. Nipper (the paint) is an anyone can ride type horse from kids to adults, and Princess is for our more advanced riders. Both are great horses who have their own unique personalities
Sydney
Hi, I’m Sydney, I have been wrangling at the Blacktail Ranch for 3 seasons, but I’ve been riding horses since I was 4-5. I love meeting all the guests that come each week, and seeing returning guests every year, is always a treat too.
Guest Services
Lana
Guest Service Manager
When the Blacktail Ranch and I found each other, it was a perfect match!! I have over 20 years in customer service and business management experience, but this by far is one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever had. The people I get to meet, plus the amazing co-workers I get to spend time with make this experience so amazing! Not only do I get to reside on the ranch for 5 months of the year, but I also now get to manage all the guest reservations remotely during the off-season which allows me to travel around the United States, plus international travel. Thank you, Sandra, for making one of my personal dreams come true!
Mindy
Head Cook
I was needing an adventure and fell in the honey pot to get a gig at the Blacktail Ranch. I Fell in love and never left. 21 years later…a great marriage, 2 boys that are growing too fast and cows that some days are too many and some days not enough. I enjoy feeding people, love the dynamic of the families and groups that come and watching the wonder of the folks that are having a new experience that they might not have at home.
Jennifer
Head Cook
My experiences at Blacktail Ranch, have been full of learning with all the beauty! The Kitchen women have all brought something in to share and I love that!
Scott
Guest Hospitality
This is Scott and his Summer companion, Penny. Scott is a volunteer who dedicates each Summer to the Blacktail Ranch and our guests. He does a tremendous amount of work for us and we are so grateful. He not only picks up the guests from the airport but he also takes guests out to find the best fishing spots on our property, goes on Elk watches, plays games with everyone at Happy hour, tends to the evening fires, and so much more. Thank you, Scott!!
